Beginning a Family Genealogy

Beginning a family genealogy is no simple task. One can only start at the beginning and proceed from there. I am beginning with myself and researching the Osborne family as far back as I possibly can. I am part of the Oregon Osbornes with roots in Lane, Coos and Douglas counties. James A. Osborne, son of James Aubrey Osborne, grandson of F.C. Bill Osborne. My father's side of the family came from Missouri, Joplin to be exact. I have been looking in records of Newton county and Jasper county. My grandfather was the one to place the "e" on the end of the Osborne name.
